MSC Certification

Low’s Traditional fish and chips in Westhill Shopping Centre has been awarded the coveted blue fish ecolabel by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). This means that they can assure customers that all their cod and haddock can be traced back to a sustainable source.

Owner of Low’s, David Low, explained the importance of getting MSC certification.

“The issue of fish stocks is on the news a lot and customers are questioning whether it is okay to eat fish, so we wanted to show them that it was possible to still enjoy fish sustainably.

“Fish and chips is the UK’s most successful takeaway and we want to keep it that way for the future – getting the MSC certification will definitely help us do that. We even show customers pictures of which boat landed our fresh haddock.”
